A wonderful Steinway& Sons Model B-211 is now added to the main hall (Studio A) of the Antart Studios' equipment..!!!
In a beautiful and historic neoclassical building located in Chiou 53 str, in the city center, the building that once housed the famous greek film company Finos Films, Antart Studios began their operation in 2013.
Some of the most important albums of 60’s and 70’s Greek discography – such as the “Zorbas the Greek”, the “Street of Dreams” and many more – had been recorded here, as well as music for the greatest films of Greek cinema.
The Antart Studios, two wonderful recording halls, with chief sound engineer John Baxevanis, opened their doors. The uniqueness and old magic of the venue is our inspiration.
Recording in Antart studios is a unique experience. The high-ceilinged hall is ideal for recordings live orchestras, without any restriction. The co-existence of musicians and sound engineer in the same hall (as there is no separated control room and booth) is a challenge but also works positively on the group concentration in music.
Mixing in Antart Studios is magical. Due to the space dimensions, the Focal monitor loudspeakers give their best. It is truly phenomenal to hear such a rich sound, being able to work restfully for many hours and at the end to realize that your report is so good that sounds almost the same everywhere.
When you have great sound analysis, derived from the great reference chain Metric Halo ULN-8, Focal SM9 combined with the acoustics, editing becomes a very simple job. However, we definitely try to “avoid” it in our projects…
In very few and exceptional cases we undertake the Mastering …. and certainly only if the recording took place in Antart Studios. Mastering is very specific and demanding process. We recommend you to contact a specialist for this job.
